Research in Motion introduces the new war plan for the distribution of its first tablet, playbook, which will be available in the U.S. and Canada starting price at only $ 499 of WiFi version.

Begin the major Research in Motion strategies for marketing the playbook tablet, Blackberry with (QNX-based) OS Tablet and OMAP4 processor from Texas Instruments. The manufacturer has just revealed pricing, distribution channels and the availability date of his device, which is faced with the iPad 2 tablet, Motorola Xoom with Android Honeycomb and other digital tablets that gradually start to arrive on the market.

Playbook will be available from April 19 in the United States and Canada shops operators and partners at major retailers, that is a network distribution of about 20,000 shops in North America. Canadian and U.S. users can already order the tablet Playbook by Best Buy, Future Shop and Best Buy Mobile, in physical stores and online. The prices are comparable with those of iPad 2 WiFi and Motorola Xoom WiFi version, which goes on sale on March 27. Please note that the playbook tablet will have a 7-inch screen at 1024 x 600 pixels with TI OMAP4 1GHz processor, dual core, 1GB of RAM, and BlackBerry OS, a new Linux platform derived from QNW Software Systems (also provided in Future BlackBerry with dual core CPU). It will be equipped with a WiFi and Bluetooth module, support and high-definition video to 1080p through the HDMI port.
