ATI Mobility Radeon HD4870 X2 Details

ATI Mobility Radeon HD4870 X2 Crossfire consists of two single ATI Mobility Radeon HD4870 graphics cards. The DirectX 10.1 capable high-end graphics card combination based on two RV770 chips : a 256 bit memory bus and GDDR5 video memory. It’s operates 2 x 800 Stream processors. The lower clock speeds of the Crossfire is composite of two 4870 performance technically dependent ATI Mobility Radeon HD4870 X2 desktop.
A special feature of ATI Mobility Radeon HD4870 X2 is integrated in HD audio chip for up to 7.1 AC3 audio (eg via HDMI).
With a power consumption up to 130 watts, it’s must be appropriately large notebooks (from 17 inches) and have a good cooling system.
Compared to a single graphics card, it also can increase 3D performance with SLI or Crossfire system up to 80%. However, rises and falls with the performance of the play-side support and SLI or Crossfire systems brings together with a strong heat and high power consumption disadvantages such as micro stuttering. Due to architectural constraints variations in output times of pictures (calculated alternate each GPU, an image) can occur despite fluid frame rates from 30 FPS to the so-called micro stuttering.
