If you have heard about Android pay and Apple pay, they use NFC standard as communication technology, whereas Samsung uses MST(Magnetic Secure Transmission) and NFC(Near Field Communication) both. Samsung pay store digital version of your physical card which will be configured before using it the first time. Currently, NFC is not widely supported with retailer’s payment devices, to utilize Android pay or Apple pay, retailers will need to upgrade their devices, whereas Samsung pay can be used with all MST supporting devices which accepts contactless payments. Almost all payment device are MST-enabled, which makes Samsung pay to be accepted widely. MST(Magnetic Secure Transmission) is a groundbreaking method establishing communication between two devices. MST can replicate a standard card swipe method by wirelessly transmitting magnetic waves from the supported Samsung device to a standard card reader.
